The coastal security teams took safety precautions for the 100-meter-long cargo ship “Croatia” with the Tanzania flag that had a machine breakdown in the Bosphorus.
According to the statement made by the social media account of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, Rescue-8 and Rescue 12 tugboats were dispatched to the ship named “Croatia” loaded with iron and steel, which had a machine failure in the area of Martyrs Bridge on July 15.
Necessary safety measures were taken by the crews around the ship in front of the Dolmabahçe Palace.
Governorship made a statement
A statement was made by the Governorship of Istanbul about the ship named Croatia, which broke down in the area of July 15 Martyrs Bridge. In the statement made, “A machine malfunction was reported from the ship named Croatia, 100 meters tall, loaded with iron and steel, while cruising on the Bosphorus at 22.30 in the area of July 15 Martyrs Bridge today. Upon the said notification, the tugboats named Rescue-8 and Rescue-12 belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety are immediately directed and the ship is towed to Ahırkapı anchorage area. According to the first information received, no negativity regarding marine and environmental pollution was reported in the incident.
